Nelida Semedo Barbosa, Esq., is an Immigration Attorney and a Certified Mediator. She graduated from Rhode Island College in 2012 with her bachelor’s degree (B. A) in Justice Studies, with emphasis in Criminal Justice. She furthered her education by obtaining her Juris Doctorate degree in 2018 from Roger Williams School of Law.
During her time at Roger Williams, she served as executive board member of the Multicultural Law Student Association, she was board member of Black Law Student Association, Criminal Law association, and Public Interest Association.
Being an immigrant from Cape Verde who emigrated to the United States at the age of 17, Attorney Barbosa is passionate about immigration law and fully understands the struggles of immigrants. She is fluent in Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, and Spanish, which enables her to represent clients who speak these languages. With her extensive knowledge in immigration law, Attorney Barbosa brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the legal profession.
Attorney Barbosa is licensed to practice Immigration law in all 50 States, she is also licensed to Practice law in the U.S. Court of Appeals for First, U.S. Court of Appeal for Eleventh Circuit, and Minnesota State.
